A wonderful project\u2014and the ability to engage in concrete acts of creation or construction is particularly important for trauma survivors, provided they are not in a state of severe dissociation that puts them at risk because they do not yet know how to manage such states. After all, many do not require trauma therapy; instead, they are able to process their experiences and find ways to cope when they have a sense of safety, positive human connection, and a tangible opportunity to build a meaningful future (in this case, quite literally).<\/p>\n
