HOPE HOME \u2022 \u041d\u0410\u0414\u0406\u042f began its work with and in Ukraine in January 2024. What started as digital exchanges between German and Ukrainian experts gradually evolved into concrete, collaborative action in Kyiv and the selected municipality of Zavodske (formerly Pervomaiske) in the Mykolaiv Oblast, involving young people, students, and village residents.<\/h3>\n

In concrete terms, this means:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Autumn 2025 \u00b7 Youth Exchange \u00bbVidNOVA : UA\u00ab<\/strong>Young people from various regions of Ukraine work together to build a youth space in Novomykolayivka using hemp-clay plaster, clay paint, and reclaimed wood. Made possible by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Awarded the Acknowledgement Prize at the international “House of No Waste” competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spring\/Summer 2025 \u00b7 Workshops Zavodske<\/strong> Hemp-lime and straw-clay workshops with local residents and young people. Made possible through crowdfunding. <\/span>Made possible through crowdfunding.<\/span><\/p>\n

December 2024 \u00b7 Opening of Fungi Lab Kyiv<\/strong> A facility for exploring fungi as a building material, operating at the intersection of university research and citizen science. Made possible by the European citizen science innovation program IMPETUS Accelerator.<\/span><\/p>\n

December 2024 \u00b7 Winter workshop Zavodske<\/strong> Hemp-lime workshop involving the renovation of a meeting space in the community center. Made possible through crowdfunding<\/span>.<\/p>\n

September to October 2024 \u00b7 Material Show Chamber of Architects <\/span>Kyiv<\/strong>\u00a0Hemp-clay workshops and a material showcase with students at the Kyiv Chamber of Architects and the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA). Made possible by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment using funds from the Advisory Assistance Programme (AAP) for environmental protection.<\/span><\/p>\n

January to September 2024 \u00b7 Zoom workshops<\/strong> 15\u00a0digital workshops on bio-based and recyclable building materials. Made possible by the Allianz Foundation and the Heinrich B\u00f6ll Foundation Kyiv<\/span>.<\/p>\n
